Going from 2 year old recall here.

When I was working for an ISP we did deploy these for some of our customers. I was using one myself for most of a year. At one point near the end I had signal quality issue that a 2wire modem powered through. Very shortly after that I switch to VDSL2.

Linux wise they were just fine.

Last I knew the Toronto Free Net was deploying these for the majority of customers which were not already bringing their own modems.
