Welcome, Karen.

This is certainly a good place to ask questions about the Linux command
line. I've gotten some excellent help in the past. I'm not an expert on
the command line - I tend to use it as a series of recipes rather than
with a deep understanding of regular expression and so on. But there are
others on this list with that kind of knowledge. And we might learn
something from your questions and their anwers.

So ask away, and let's see if someone can help.
