Gstreamer + PyGTK and Streaming Video

Two question for PyGTK and Gstreamer experts :

Is it possible to play a internet stream such as a youtube movie/vidoeo
using a pipeline in gstaremer ? The file format am interested in is the
flash .swf.

Tried gst-launch but keep getting errors that I do not really understand
and google does not have any articles that really point one in the right
direction so any help and guidance is welcome and greatly appreciated.

In gtk.WindowGroup can one set the height and width  ? If so how ?
