The first time my daughter saw a manual typewriter, she thought it was a
huge improvement over the computer. Look dad, no printer necessary! And
you get to see your work in print immediately!

This was an IBM Selectric with the erase tape built in, so I couldn't even
claim it wouldn't erase.
