why is my desktop sluggish?

I have same problem, even though I block Flash and Ads. My suspicion is
Flash and Javascript, but can't be bothered. My solution is to kill
Firefox (Ctrl-Q) and restart it. On restart, Firefox displays button to
"restore" previous session.
