GPL question

They have to supply the source to all GPL components like the Linux kernel and any userland libraries and utilities that are GPL. They do not have to provide source code to their applicAtion unless it is linked with a GPL component.  This is why libraries come with the LGPL license.

This might not be the right place to ask this but ...

If a company makes and sells a device built on linux are they required to
provide source code for their application ?
