So I've notice this behaviour in more then one application outside of
{Open|Libre}Office, notably kOrganizer when I print my calendars.
I haven't looked hard enough to find an answer, but I do have reliable
work around. Print to PDF, verify that it's in landscape, then print the
pdf.
