Partitioning 2TB+ disk, you need to use GPT format. 'fdisk' will refuse
to touch it. I use 'gdisk'. However, I wasn't able to boot from 3TB,
may be it was BIOS problem. Anyways, I ended up using 256MB USB flash
drive as boot partition.

Yes, you can use the entire disk without any partition.
