Question about Ubuntu 12 desktop

I have been using it since installing 12.04. I made sure that I could 
use classic Gnome before I did the upgrade to 12.04.

I have not been able to get icons for apps on the top bar, but that is 
not very important, and I have not tried to hard to figure it out.
