OP's issue is solved but I can't help it; Google's DNS servers are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (not 4.4.4.4)  http://xkcd.com/386/ :-)

Somehow related, I'm a fan of    http://code.google.com/p/namebench/ , a tool that will find the fastest nameservers for your location and usage.
