Actually, a Windows-preloaded machine costs ***LESS***. MS sells
"volume licences" to OEMs at great discounts. The OEMs, in turn charge
Norton, Roxio, etal for the privilege of pre-loading their "craplets"
(nagware demo versions) onto new machines. The OEMs make a profit on
the "craplets", even after the Windows licence, which reduces the cost
of the machine.
