(question) Raid5 + Encryption -- which is first?

I tried it this morning, and it worked.  

    - start with 3-device RAID5
    - put encryption layer on top

    - increase to 4-device RAID5
    - put encryption layer on top

    - increase filesystem to max

And, I get back the filesystem with increased size.
