The load runs up between 1.00 and 2.00, usually somewhere around 1.38. Enough
to slow other processes down, but not to stop them. Back when there were some
memory problems as well I had a runaway process that got up to 27.00 before I
pulled the plug on it, but those problems seem to be long gone. Puzzling.
