i got a lg bluray about a year ago.
I didn't have much luck with linux support back then,
but nero has a linux version for about 19$,
so i was happy to support a commercial linux program, and it worked well.
I am not sure about usb bluray, but if nero sees it, chances are it
will work with it.
I just installed linux mint DE as my main desktop and i will try and
burn a bluray with some apps on it,
but I also have 50gb dual layer,and even 50gb dual layer re-writables,
so I wouldn't be surprised if i still need nero.
