In the case of the G20, there was ~$900 million spent on security. That
is orders of magnitude more than previous G8/G20 meetings, so the
"underfunded" argument simply doesn't apply here. In fact, that
overspending is part of the reason people were angry.

As for the speed of trial, yes, we'd all have loved for the trial to
have been completed months ago. That just isn't realistic though... We
were warned to expect 18~24 months at least minimum for this case to go
to trial. As it stands, things have been moving very fast by normal
standards. Further complicating things is that the crown is fighting
tooth and nail in this case. Every stage of the process has been record
setting in it's length.

As for the tax comments... well, that's a whole other conversation that
is even more off-topic than this one. :)
