anyone running a diaspora server?

I'm about to install one on my sheevaplug, just to see how it stacks up
against facebook. is anyone out there running diaspora, or using it for
social networking purposes?
any creative ideas on how to increase uptake in the general facebook user
world (i.e. amongst those who only just realized that everyone could look at
their albums because they didn't bother with privacy settings)? most of the
people i want to socially network with are many things, but security/tech
savvy is rarely one of them.
