GMail to Mobile won't work

Hmm, I thought any phone that you can install gmail client would be
considered a smart phone?

By the way, I get a feeling Thomas was attempting to forward gmail
emails to his phone as SMS.  I get that idea as that is the only way
the carrier can control the length of the text.  If its purely IP, I
think that is outside the control of your carrier Virgin.

If its true you are attempting to send an email to the phone as text,
the problem is not on google end but mostly something to do with your
carrier.  That would mean any alternative webmail service will
encounter the same problem.

Thomas, If I have misread this, would you mind explaining what you
mean by mobile gateway please?
