When I first started with Linux, several years ago, I tried and gave up
on Gnome because I found it too limiting. It'd be nice if they had both
useful and dumbed down versions of a desktop available. Anyone
developing a desktop should give the OS/2 desktop (Workplace Shell) a
good look. There were a lot of excellent features in it that I haven't
seen elsewhere.
