firefox grows, taking over all resources

I didn't know about firebug.  So I installed it.  Now my browser is
unresponsive all the time :-(

The resident set size is still not all of my memory, so it must be a CPU 
issue.

Now I have to figure out how to uninstall it without a responsive browser.  
I guess I'll have to lose mey open tabs.
