Will a 60-foot run of CAT-5 ethernet cable work?

You are allowed 100m of CAT-5 for 100Mbit operation by the spec.
It does work in my experience too (200m does not by the way, as would
be expected).

So 60 feet is nothing.  You are allowed 5 times that.

Gigabit is a different story.
