Home NAS Recommendations

I built my own NAS using a bit of new hardware (including a shiny new
2TB WD drive) and FreeNAS, and I've been really happy with it.

The cash outlay is probably higher for the hardware than the other
solutions, but I've been very happy with FreeNAS as the OS. It's been
running on a CD for months now, and the only downtime has been to add
new drives (those 2TB drives aren't cheap).
