SIP dropouts? how do they sound?

I can't choose the protocol the remote pbx wants to see g711u and that's what i
am stuck with. The noises seem to depend strongly on the type of remote client
but all remote (windows) clients have the problem, linux less so. Certain routes
do not have the problem at all. Please tell me that the isp's do not jam sip
deliberately ?
