Debian nvidia video problem

But seriously, if this thread continues to be about GRUB2 (and I don't
help any below) perhaps we should spawn a different subject line.

I'm fascinated by the GRUB2 thing: In ten years of using "testing," I
don't think I've ever seen such a run of problems.  It's always been
very stable up until about three months ago, when it suddenly started
acting the way I would have expected "unstable" to act.  Almost
entirely because of GRUB2 - the problem being that a bootloader issue
has the potential to spectacularly bork a system, and it's done so
repeatedly.  I'm getting better at chrooting and re-installing GRUB
...  Not a skill I had really wanted to improve.

As for my video problem, I'll reply back this evening when I get home
and can test.  As usual, I think Lennart is right: I may have to pull
some nvidia stuff down from unstable.  Thanks.
