Wow.  If this is the man page you're referring to:

then you have a talent for understatement: that is totally and utterly useless.

If anyone can answer this one, I'd be very interested too.  Not that I
have a Logitech Marble Mouse, but I've had run-ins with evdev before
and a quick Google search for documentation is coming up distinctly
empty.
