One possible glitch you may run into is pulse audio. I'm on 9.1 on 2 
boxes. The clean install box gave me grief with sound especially with 
flash video. The other box was an upgrade and it went smoothly. I can't 
comment much on any improvements. Maybe eye candy a little but I turn 
that off.
