firefox paste bug?

I seem to have stumbled onto firefox's dirty little secret.  There are
many reports, including my own experience, of not being able to paste
into firefox's search box, address box or any web form boxes.  With
other applications my clipboard works fine.  This problem persists even
when running Firefox in safe mode.
