My impression is that you can do the rendering on your own machine and
you that you can configure it to show anything you choose to.

If you cannot convince a community to contribute these new things, you
don't have any leverage.  So it is a really good idea to work towards
consensus on new features.

I would not be surprised if a bunch snowmobilers could find this worth
contributing to.
