Forwarded distro question

On my buddy's laptop Ubuntu worked fine. I haven't tried on a T-43 but
I've found most of the IBM/Lenovo stuff tends to use decent wifi cards
(Intel or Atheros, not that broadcomm crap) with good linux support.
Really, the compatibility is more a function of the kernel than the
distro, although the latter can make it easier depending on what the
default included kernel is or wifi tools etc (networkmanager-xxx is
nice for GUI stuff).



Why not try a Ubuntu LiveCD and see if it "just works?"
