It doesn't need a driver. It is a plug.
You just need the driver for the video card, and of course a monitor
that supports the port.
My monitor at work has a displayport input (among many others). It is a
Dell, which is probably no surprise given almost noone else uses it.
Dell and Apple seems to be the major pushers of displayport so far.
