Thanks for confirming that; are you sure that the sun-java6-jre is not 
installing a 32-bit emulated Java plugin? If there any way to verify 
this, could you?

I think there's a test applet out there somewhere that acts like 
phpInfo(), ie. it tells you all about your interpreter.

Looks like I'm all set.
