Xephyr/Xnest in gentoo/sabayon (how?)

i was just reading an old linux magazine, and came across a marcel article about xnest.
I'd really like to try it,
and I am just putting together a new linux box (ubuntu ibex and opensuse 11.1 just aren't doing it for me), so i am trying out
sabayon (and so far completely blown away with it),
and would like to get xnest || xephyr running on it, but I can't even get to first base with it (googling and such).
Perhaps its that Sabayon (out of the box) doesn't "gentoo" right away, or whatever.
I am really really new to the gentoo way of doing things, so maybe I am just missing something so obvious.
I want to run a kde virtual X env on my Gnome desktop (i have the real-estate to allow this to work).
