Software Engineer at Zepheira, LLC

Zepheira is seeking a senior software engineer to join the small, highly 
focused Freemix engineering team (see http://freemix.it). There is a large 
emphasis on contribution to and use of FLOSS software, Internet and data 
standards, and flexible, modern software engineering practices. Very strong 
Python and Javascript language knowledge and experience with Web 
Architecture/REST, RDF, XML and CSS strongly preferred.

The Freemix product team is responsible for integrating customer requirements 
from the Zepheira services team to create a commercially-supported software 
product that is the foundation of customer solutions delivered by Zepheira.

Duties and responsibilities include:

* Translate customer requirements on multiple project engagements into robust 
software solutions that fit the architectural principles and framework 
prescribed by the architecture staff.

* Analyze current programs including performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting 
of software problems, and development of appropriate solutions.

* Analyze system specifications and translate customer requirements to task 
specifications for contract programmers.

* Perform the role of technical lead for multiple projects and supervise 
technical staff to meet deliverables on time and with the highest quality. 
Ability to work with others when not acting as a technical lead.

* Document code consistently throughout the development process as using 
guidelines defined by the technical team. Ensure project technical staff also 
provides documentation that meets specifications.

* Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine 
system problems.

* Work closely with architects and project manager for all assigned projects 
performing duties as required.

* Respond promptly and professionally to bug reports.

This job is location independent for the right candidate, but Virginia is 
preferred.
