I'm using a version of Ubuntu that's customized for the Eee and boots 
from a pen drive.  It boots fine, but I simply can't get beyond the 
command prompt.  I don't see any way to progress from that point or work 
around it.  As I mentioned earlier, I think the problem may be due to 
the limited resources of that model.  I also have USB CD drives 
available through a couple of friends.
