Well no one likes what Microsoft proposed, and no one implements
whatever the result of OOXML has become as part of the ISO process,
while some programs implement ODF, so yes perhaps they have finally
clued in that they aren't going to get their way on this issue.  It will
be better for Microsoft in the long run to not keep using their legacy
file formats and associated bugs anyhow.
