According to (http://www.davethomas.net/papers/ubiquitous1995.pdf) they 
were Tektronix TDS 500 series oscilloscopes with 512K ROM and 32K RAM. 
If you're interested in more details, I could try asking in some 
Smalltalk lists, where there's bound to be someone who knows more of the 
details.
