Creating a mount point for Windows shares with Mandriva 2008

I am ahaving some difficulty replicating your problem.

I am running Mandriva 2008.1RC2 and as a rule I try to stay as far away from 
MS software as possible. But, I have just used MCC to set up mount points for 
wxp  shares without  difficulty.

Seems  to work fine. 

What should have failed?
