Linux Printing: Still Awful

I see them regularly on Craigslist.com advertised by a fellow in the 
Jane and Bloor area who sells networking and server equipment as well. 
He recently had an Optra S 1650n for under $100. That is the exact model 
I have and it is a workhorse.
