Disk full -- any suggestions on what to move to SD card?

No it will remove the gnome meta package which contains nothing other
than a list of other gnome stuff.  Remomving it is perfectly safe.  Of
course it might then declare other stuff an no longer required, but as
long as you don't let it remove that (if using aptitude) you will still
keep the rest of gnome.  You can even just ask it to install those other
pieces and it will keep them installed from then on.
