Yeah, I'm finally understanding this stuff. Here is my new (simplified)
/etc/network/interfaces:
auto lo
auto eth0
auto eth0:0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.0.4
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.1
iface lo inet loopback
Can that be streamlined any more or is that as simple as it can be?
