OT: Multi-highlight in Firefox

I have to scan several web pages on a regular basis, looking for any
instance of any of a set of several names/terms. I thought I would be
able to find a Firefox plugin that would highlight my search terms and
accept a list as input, but I was wrong.

I can set up a script to use feeds or wget and pattern matching, but it
not as appealing a solution to my mind. However, I don't know how to go
about an in-browser solution. Would a bookmarklet work?, or something
clever with javascript, or do I need to write this plugin for Firefox?
Any suggestions would be welcome.
