The Dell will not be 1.5 pounds.

Also, the $500 appears to be for a desktop, not a laptop.  The XPS M1330
on that page starts at $954 and does have better specs, but it's still
4.3 pounds with the standard battery.

You'd also have to have it delivered to the States and pick it up from
there.

You can get a $500 Dell laptop with better specs and Ubuntu installed
and configured :-)
