If you can do 'lpq' and get status of PSC_1600_series, then doing lpr
should work too, assuming you have cupsys's lpr and not some other print
system's copy of lpr.  Both lpr and lpq are bsd style commands.  lp and
lpstat would be the sysv equivelants.
