I have information on the procedure I use to make bootable USB keys. It is
located at http://www.ve3syb.ca/software/bootableusb.html. I tried using
syslinux but didn't get consistent results. The procedure I use now involves
the use of grub. Your ability to boot off a USB key will also depend on
whether your computer supports such a feature or not.
