Believe it or not I am trying to do this in a methodical way. I'm 
tweaking my record-keeping system as I go along. I keep posts in an 
'Active' directory until I understand them and have dealt with them , 
then I move them to an 'iPod' directory for future reference, and I'm 
keeping an OO document with your steps, and the steps that I do 
(however, I need to keep more detail like whether I ran something as 
root or user).

So, don't give up on me yet.
