What do you use to inventory linux boxes?

If you have run WinAudit on a windows box, and could put that info into 
a mysql database,
that is what I am looking for.

I am aware of winventory and the newer open-audit.org
However these seem to inventory window based boxes.

What do you use to inventory linux boxes?
