OT: drive belts

I have similar problems with my aging DVD player. My solution is simple. 
I go to Staples and by an assortment of rubber bands. You would be 
surprised how well they substitute for the real thing. Mind you, they 
don't last as long, but at the price you pay you can afford to change 
them occasionally. I have done this for the last three years.
