Skimming through the article and pondering a bit.. there are some
references to doing such strangeness as patenting _methods_.  I wonder
if Microsoft gathered such patents as "using email to communicate bug
reports" ..

I'd bet that a lot of non-FOSS interests would also be threatened if
specific patents were described.
