Do you want to make a search engine and make it faster or are you
talking about optimizing positioning of your web site on various search
engines?
For the first one I think that is a bit complicated and involves lots of
R&D and smart people working at Google and such, while the second option
is in my opinion as simple as having a web site with content people
actually want to see and hence link to.
