silly anecdote:

a while back, i logged on to one of my servers and noticed

   Last Login: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX.cia.com

i didn't recognize the address and it gave me a bit of a start... (until i
remembered i'd been down at my dad's and logged in remotely)
