Running 32 bit Linux on 64 bit hardware is equivalent (in terms of
application compatibility) to runing 32 bit Linux on 32 bit hardware. This
is why many people suggest that 32 bit Linux is a safe choice for 64 bit
systems. Running 32 bit applications on 64 bit Linux is a different story.
